Modeling how infectious diseases spread, to improve how public health policy responds.
The research group of Dr. Nathan Lo focuses on understanding the transmission of infectious diseases and the impact of interventions to design more effective public health policies for their control and elimination. Our group's work spans multiple infectious diseases in both domestic and international settings, with a particular focus on vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles and COVID-19, and neglected parasitic diseases such as schistosomiasis. Our research is defined by identifying consequential, policy-relevant public health questions, and integrating the epidemiologic and computational modeling methods needed to answer them. Across pathogens and settings, our ultimate goal is to advance the control and elimination of infectious diseases worldwide.
